Welcome to Magnolia Art Studios, a private retreat designed for a select community of creatives.
I’m Jennifer, and I created this space as a place for friends, acquaintances, and their lucky referrals to come together and explore their artistic side in a peaceful and inspiring environment
because, why not?
Every day is a chance to push my creative limits and try new techniques. Making art isn’t just a hobby for me—it’s a lifelong passion that fills me with joy and fulfillment. I believe every person can find joy and benefit by the creative process.
Our spacious classroom is perfect for larger projects, while the outdoor quad offers a place to sit outside and get some fresh air.
There’s also a dedicated sewing room for textile work, and an equipped workshop for hands-on building projects.
For those looking to capture their work we have a professional photo studio (just remember to bring your own camera). It’s also available for rent by the hour if you have a body of work you would like to photograph. The professional lighting prevents the glare and reflection that artist struggle with when photographing their work. Before you leave, be sure to visit our boutique gift shop, where we showcase unique art pieces created by our talented community.
Art has been a part of my life since childhood, thanks to my mother who always made sure I had a space to express myself creatively.
Though I never went to art school, I had a wonderful high school art teacher who really believed in me and let me study with him for four years. I also spend countless hours learning through online classes and tutorials.
Now, I work full-time as an artist, splitting my days between my home studio and Magnolia Art Studios. At Magnolia, I’m dedicated to creating a space where creatives can come together, providing an environment that fosters collaboration and individual exploration.
My work spans various mediums like painting, textiles, jewelry making including metal smithing, paper crafts and relief carving.
I have a thing for textures and often use unconventional supplies to achieve a 3D effect. This is where the mixed in media comes to play. Such as reclaimed fabrics, recycled items to add a unique touch to my art. I also love making junk journals and collages to experiment with new art techniques and supplies. My favorite is vintage magazines and old books.
I love experimenting with natural dyes that I make myself to color papers and fabrics to make them uniquely my own.
Besides creating like a mad scientist, teaching and sharing what I have learned is a big part of my life. I enjoy teaching everything from relief carving in drywall boards to the calming art of slow stitching and neurography, helping others unlock their creativity.

Our mission is to provide a welcoming space for the community to engage in creative expression. Through our workshops, classes, and gatherings, we aim to foster learning, facilitate creativity, and offer support to individuals as they explore and develop their artistic skills.

“The first-place award was presented to Jennifer Coulter for ‘The Flower Bed,’ a piece created using torn paper monoprints from a gel plate. ‘I became really enamored with gel printing, which is a monoprint technique done on a jelly plate,’ said Coulter…’Winning this award means the world to me: it’s a validation of my process. It’s a complicated and meticulous technique but that’s what makes it so fulfilling.'”
